How Poshmark fees work
Poshmark keeps a simple commission and has no listing fees. For sales under $15 it takes a flat $2.95; for sales of $15 or more it takes 20%, so you keep 80%. The buyer pays for a prepaid shipping label that Poshmark emails to you, so shipping is neither part of your earnings nor a cost you pay, unless you offer a shipping discount.
Commission = $2.95 if price < $15, otherwise 20% × price
Earnings = price − commission
Profit = earnings − item cost − packaging and other costs
Worked examples
- A jacket sells for $30. Poshmark keeps 20% = $6.00, and you earn $24.00. If it cost $12 and packaging $0.50, profit is $11.50. Break-even is $15.63, and the price for $10 profit is $28.13.
- A top sells for $12. The flat $2.95 fee leaves $9.05. If it cost $3 and packaging $0.50, profit is $5.55. Break-even is $6.45, and $11.45 gives $5 profit.
The $15 threshold
Because the commission switches from a flat fee to a percentage at $15, a $14 sale costs $2.95 (21%), while a $15 sale costs $3.00 (20%). Below about $15 the flat fee is a large share of the price, so very cheap items earn little. Many sellers bundle low-priced items so the buyer pays one shipping label and the bundle crosses $15.
Offers, discounts and shipping discounts
- When you accept an offer, the commission applies to the final price, so enter the price you accept.
- If you offer a shipping discount to buyers, you pay part of the label. Enter that amount in other costs.
- Price drops and closet sales reduce the price before the commission is calculated.
Other places
Poshmark's rules differ outside the US; for example, Poshmark lists a flat C$3.95 under C$20 and 20% above in Canada. Some US states also add a seller tax deduction. Check Poshmark's support page for your location.
Comparing with other marketplaces
Poshmark's 20% is higher than the percentage on Etsy, eBay or Mercari, but you do not pay for postage and buyers pay shipping on top. The seller fee calculator compares the same sale across marketplaces.
Pricing for the profit you want
Start from the profit you need and work back. For sales of $15 or more, divide your total costs plus target profit by 0.8: an item that cost $12 with $0.50 packaging needs at least ($12.50 + $10) ÷ 0.8 = $28.13 to make $10. Under $15, add $2.95 instead: $3.50 of costs plus a $5 target gives $11.45. The target-profit field handles both cases, including the jump at $15.
Poshmark buyers expect to make offers, so many sellers list 15–25% above the lowest price they would accept. If your minimum is $28.13, a list price around $35 leaves room for an offer while still reaching your target.
Bundles
Bundles combine several items from your closet into one order with one shipping label. The 20% commission applies to the bundle total, so a bundle of three $10 items ($30) pays $6.00, instead of three flat fees of $2.95 ($8.85) if each sold separately. Offering a bundle discount can still leave you better off.
Records and taxes
Keep a note of what you paid for each item and what it sold for. Poshmark's sales reports show your earnings, and depending on the reporting threshold for the year you may receive a Form 1099-K. Reselling for a profit is generally taxable income; ask a tax professional about your situation.
Common mistakes
- Pricing just under $15 without noticing the flat fee takes over 20%.
- Forgetting shipping discounts you offered.
- Counting the full listing price when you accepted a lower offer.
Fee rates were checked against the marketplace's official help pages in October 2026 and are shown in editable fields. Marketplaces change fees from time to time, so check the current rates before pricing. This site is not affiliated with Etsy, eBay, Poshmark or Mercari.
